How long does SkyStem implementation take?
SkyStem publishes three different framings and they are worth reading together. Its FAQ says the company is committed to delivering ART in days and that implementation timeline and commitment will vary. Its story page promises implementation in days not months and training in hours not weeks. Its ART product page says get up and running in a few weeks, and the homepage headline is automate your close checklist in 30 days. Treat days as the floor and roughly a month as the realistic figure, and ask in the demo which one applies to your account count.
Is SkyStem SOC 2 certified?
SkyStem does not publish a vendor SOC 2 report. What its FAQ states is narrower: customer data is hosted in data centers described as SOC 2 compliant, and elsewhere as a SOC 1 and SOC 2 compliant hosted environment, with encryption in transit, role-based access controlled by the customer, mandatory password expiration, offsite backups and physical controls including biometric scanning at the data center. That is a claim about the hosting environment rather than an audit of SkyStem's own controls. Reconciler does not publish a SOC 2 report either, so neither of us wins this row outright and a formal vendor security review should ask both of us for the document.
Who should choose SkyStem over Reconciler?
Choose SkyStem if the job is certifying a large balance sheet: hundreds or thousands of general ledger accounts that each need a form, a preparer, a reviewer and an archived sign-off, plus flux analysis on thresholds and P&L variance against budget, and if your ledger is a core banking or enterprise system like Fiserv, Jack Henry or Oracle.
