Terms of Service
Last updated October 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Reconciler website and platform. By using our services you agree to these Terms.
Accounts
You are responsible for the information you provide and for activity under your account. You must give an accurate email address and keep your access credentials secure. You must be authorized to upload any statement or export and to connect any bank, payment processor, or accounting ledger account you add.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service, including by attempting to access data you are not authorized to, interfering with the platform, reverse-engineering it, or using it to violate any law or third-party right.
Plans and billing
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis as shown at signup, in US dollars. Payments are final. A charge is refunded only for a duplicate charge, a proven unauthorised charge reported within 14 days, or a total outage on our side, as set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We may change pricing with reasonable notice.
Renewals and failed payments. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. When a new billing period begins, access for that whole period is granted and the payment for it is due. If the charge does not go through, the payment remains due and we retry it. Cancelling after a new period has begun only switches off later renewals; it does not cancel the payment for the period that has already started. Such a renewal charge is not refundable, and your access continues until the end of that paid period. The fee is for access to the service for the period, not for using it, so not having used the service is not a ground for a refund.
Your data and ownership
You retain all rights to your financial data and configuration. We read the files you upload, and the accounts you connect with read-only keys, solely to read transactions and balances, match them across your bank, card, processor, and ledger data, flag discrepancies, and provide the service. We only ever send read requests, never move money, and nothing auto-posts. We claim no ownership over your data or configuration.
Read-only by design
Reconciler surfaces transaction matches, flagged discrepancies, missing entries, duplicates, and plain-English explanations for your review. Its output is informational decision support and is not financial or tax advice, and does not guarantee a complete or correct close. A person on your team is responsible for reviewing exceptions and recording any outcome in your own ledger.
Service availability
We work to keep the service available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Enterprise plans may include specific service-level agreements.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including any warranty of a complete or correct book close. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reconciler is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. On termination, we will delete or return your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated, and continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
