The short answer: BlackLine does not publish a price for Verity, its suite of AI agents, and it does not say on its own site whether any Verity agent is included in a module license or sold as an add-on. The only way to learn what Verity adds to your BlackLine bill is to ask for the quote itemized agent by agent. What BlackLine does publish is what each agent does and the results its early adopters report, which is enough to decide whether Verity changes the buying decision at all. For an enterprise already on BlackLine, it may. For a mid-market team on QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite whose real problem is bank and payout matching, a reconciliation tool with a published price is usually the faster answer.

Everything attributed to BlackLine below was read on blackline.com in September 2026: the Verity AI product page, the July 23, 2026 Verity Prepare blog post, and BlackLine's press releases of September 9, 2025, April 14, 2026 and July 27, 2026. We build a competing product, which is why we only state what BlackLine publishes about itself and label its customers' results as their claims.

BlackLine Verity at a glance

Verity is not one product. It is the AI layer BlackLine runs on its Studio360 platform, made up of named agents that each do one job, coordinated by an AI "team lead" BlackLine calls Vera. BlackLine launched Verity on September 9, 2025 and has added agents through 2026.

Verity agentWhat BlackLine says it doesResult BlackLine publishes
Verity PreparePrepares account reconciliations: reads supporting files, matches transactions, drafts reconciling items for reviewUp to 92% less manual preparation time (press release); up to 94% (BlackLine blog)
Verity MatchSuggests matches on complex, high-volume accounts beyond what rules catch80 to 90% match rates
Verity AccrualsGathers source data, emails vendors to confirm amounts, drafts accrual entriesUp to 80% less manual work, close 3 days faster
Verity CollectPlaces and transcribes collection calls, logs promises to pay, drafts follow-upsNone stated
Verity RemitExtracts remittance data from unstructured documents for cash applicationNone stated
Verity ForecastPredicts customer payments and cash flow from payment historyNone stated
Verity InsightsAnswers questions about trends and variances in plain EnglishNone stated

Verity Prepare, the agent most relevant to reconciliation buyers, became generally available on July 27, 2026 after an early adopter program. Note the two different figures for the same result: BlackLine's press release says early adopters cut preparation time by up to 92%, and its blog post four days earlier says up to 94%. Both are vendor-reported ceilings from early adopters, not averages.

How much does BlackLine Verity cost?

BlackLine publishes no figure for Verity, for Studio360 or for any of its modules. Its old pricing URL returned an HTTP 500 error when we checked on September 18, 2026, and it no longer appears in BlackLine's own sitemap, while the rest of the site loads normally. Every route to a number goes through a demo request.

That leaves one useful public data point. BlackLine's July 2026 Verity Prepare post cites an earnings call analysis saying nearly 20% of all BlackLine customers have adopted the embedded Verity capabilities. BlackLine reports more than 4,300 customers, so roughly four in five were not using Verity at that point. Whatever the commercial model is, Verity is not something every BlackLine customer already has running, which is exactly why it belongs on your quote as its own line.

We do not repeat the dollar ranges that third-party pricing sites publish for BlackLine. They are aggregated from undisclosed contracts, they rarely separate modules from AI, and none of them is a price BlackLine has stated. If you want a benchmark, our guide to what BlackLine costs and what moves the quote explains the drivers instead.

Is Verity included in a BlackLine subscription?

BlackLine does not say. Its pages describe Verity as the "embedded intelligence layer" of the platform, which reads like part of the product, but embedded is a description of where the AI runs, not a statement about how it is licensed. Two practical points follow from how the agents are built:

  • Each agent works inside a module. Verity Prepare prepares reconciliations, so it assumes you license Account Reconciliations. Verity Match improves match rates inside matching, which BlackLine sells as the separately licensed Transaction Matching module. An agent cannot add value to a module you do not own.
  • Accounts receivable agents need Invoice-to-Cash. Collect, Remit and Forecast work on the AR side. If your contract is Financial Close only, those three are not a reason to buy.

So the real question for a renewal is narrower than "is Verity included". It is which agents are active on the modules you already pay for, and what it costs to turn on the rest.

What to ask BlackLine before you sign

These are the questions that turn an unpublished price into a comparable one. Ask for the answers in writing, on the order form rather than in a slide.

  1. Which Verity agents are included in this quote, listed by name, and which are priced separately?
  2. Is any agent metered by usage, such as reconciliations prepared or documents processed, and what happens when we exceed it?
  3. Which modules does each agent require, and are any of those modules not yet on our contract?
  4. Is the Verity price locked for the full term, and what is the renewal uplift cap?
  5. Can we run Verity Prepare on a sample of our own accounts before the contract starts?
  6. What match rate and preparation time reduction did customers on our ERP and at our volume see, rather than the best early adopter?

Governance deserves its own line in the review. BlackLine states that generative AI features never use customer data to train generalized models, that its machine learning models are trained only with the customer's explicit permission, and that it holds ISO 42001 certification for AI management. Agents also follow the same role-based access and segregation of duties as human users. If your team is rolling out other AI agents against finance systems at the same time, the same scrutiny applies there, and a security layer that enforces which tools and data an agent may touch belongs in the same control review.

Does BlackLine Verity work with QuickBooks or Xero?

BlackLine does not name them. Its Verity Prepare post describes the agent as ERP-agnostic and names SAP, Oracle, NetSuite and data platforms such as Snowflake as sources, and it reads spreadsheets, CSV and text files, PDFs, images and email messages as supporting evidence. QuickBooks and Xero appear nowhere in the Verity material we read. That fits the rest of BlackLine's positioning: it is built for enterprise finance organizations, and its buyers typically run a large ERP.

If your books are in QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite and your close is held up by bank feeds, card activity and Stripe, PayPal or Square payouts that do not tie out, an AI agent layered on an enterprise close suite is a large purchase for a narrow problem.

BlackLine Verity alternatives

Split the alternatives by what you are really buying. Some teams want an enterprise close platform with AI built in. Others want the reconciliation done and explained without a six-figure evaluation.

Which should you buy?

Buy Verity if you already run BlackLine Account Reconciliations and Transaction Matching across a large ERP estate, your preparers spend days building support for high-risk accounts, and BlackLine will put the agent pricing and a pilot on the order form. In that setting, even a fraction of the published preparation time reduction pays for a lot.

Look elsewhere if you are evaluating BlackLine mainly because of Verity and your ledger is QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite. The problem most mid-market teams have is simpler: the bank statement, the card activity and the processor payouts do not agree with the ledger, and nobody can say why. Reconciler connects those sources and the ledger read-only, matches both sides line by line and writes a plain English reason for every match, so a reviewer checks the logic instead of trusting an agent. The plan with ledger connections is $149 per month billed yearly, published on our pricing page, and you can run the tie-out at the top of this page on a sample of your own bank and ledger exports before you pay anything.
