Melio Pricing, Melio Cost and Melio Alternatives for Teams That Need the Bank to Match the Books

Melio is a bill pay tool. You enter or upload vendor bills, approve them, and pay by ACH, check, card or wire, and the payments sync to QuickBooks or Xero as bills paid. Its own US pricing page, read on November 7, 2026, shows five plans: Go at $0 for one user with 5 free ACH payments a month, Core at $25 a month ($20 billed annually) with 20, Boost at $55 ($44 annually) with 50, Unlimited at $80 ($64 annually) with unlimited free ACH and users, and a custom Platinum plan. After the free payments are used, the page says a $0.50 charge applies to each payment, and core, boost and unlimited start with 90 days free. QuickBooks Online and Xero sync appear on Core and above, QuickBooks Desktop on Boost, and NetSuite on Unlimited. What Melio does well is get vendors paid without a check run. What its pricing page does not describe is the step after payment: proving the debit on the bank statement matches the bill the ledger says was paid, that a batch did not clear twice, and that the mailed check eventually posted. Reconciler is that step. It connects QuickBooks Online, Xero and NetSuite read-only, reads the bank and processor activity next to the ledger, pairs every line with the entries behind it, and writes a plain English reason under each match. It posts nothing, so it sits beside Melio rather than replacing it. This page sets Melio published price next to Reconciler and says which job each tool is for.

Vendor pricing changes. We only state what each vendor publishes itself, and we do not repeat third-party estimates as fact. Confirm current numbers with Melio before you decide. Reconciler pricing is on our pricing page, and the same check across every tool in the category, including which vendors publish a figure at all, is on our account reconciliation software pricing comparison.

Honest fit

Which one you should actually pick

Pick Melio when

Melio is the better fit, and the cheaper one, when the pain is paying bills: a pile of vendor invoices, a manual check run, or an owner approving payments by email. The free Go plan and the $25 Core plan cover a small business paying a few dozen vendors, and a team that needs more users should compare the Unlimited plan. If paying vendors is the bottleneck, use Melio.

Pick Reconciler when

Reconciler is the better fit when the payments are already going out and the books still will not close. The open lines are the ones bill pay cannot see: an ACH batch that leaves the bank as one debit, a mailed check that clears three weeks later, a card funded payment that lands in a different account. Reconciler pairs each bank line with the entries behind it, explains every match, and leaves a short list of true exceptions for a person. Most teams that outgrow spreadsheets at month end run both, one paying and one proving.

Questions people ask

Melio alternatives, answered

How much does Melio cost?

Melio pricing, read on its own US pricing page on November 7, 2026, is $0 for Go, $25 a month for Core, $55 for Boost and $80 for Unlimited, with lower rates billed annually. Past your free ACH payments each one costs $0.50, and faster, card funded and international payments carry their own fees, so check the fee table for the methods you use.

Is Melio free?

Melio has a free Go plan for one user with 5 free ACH payments a month, and Core, Boost and Unlimited start with 90 days free. Fees still apply to payments outside your free allowance, and Go does not list a QuickBooks or Xero sync on its plan card, so confirm that before relying on it.

Does Melio reconcile bank statements?

Not as a stated feature. Melio pays bills and syncs the payments to QuickBooks or Xero as bills paid, which gets the entry into your ledger. Matching each bank debit to those entries, and proving the ledger agrees with the bank, is the work Reconciler does after payment.

What are the best Melio alternatives?

It depends on the job. For paying bills with approvals, the alternatives are Bill.com and the bill pay built into your accounting software. For proving that the bank, the processors and the ledger agree, Reconciler is built for that, and our pages compare the neighboring tools honestly.

Can I use Melio and reconciliation software together?

Yes, and that is the normal shape. Melio works upstream, paying vendors and posting entries. Reconciliation software works downstream, proving the finished ledger agrees with the bank. Reconciler connects read-only, so it never changes what Melio posts.
