Most financial close software does not publish a price. Of the eight close platforms we checked on their own websites on September 29, 2026, only Oracle prints a list price for its enterprise close suite, and it starts at $2,500 a month once you apply the seat minimum. FloQast, BlackLine, Numeric, Ledge, Trintech, SkyStem and Nominal all send you to a demo. A mid-market team should expect a quoted annual contract, usually in five figures, while the tools that do publish, mostly reconciliation and firm review tools, sit between $7.50 per client and $399 a month.

The figures you see repeated on list articles are mostly out of date. Two of the most quoted, FloQast at $125 per user and Numeric from $30 per user, no longer match what either vendor says on its own pricing page. The table below is what each vendor actually shows today, read directly from its site.

How much does financial close software cost?

Financial close software from the established platforms is sold by annual quote, and almost no vendor will confirm a number before a demo, so the only hard figure in the category is Oracle's. The one published enterprise list price is Oracle's: $250 per named user per month on EPM Standard with a 10 user minimum, so $30,000 a year before implementation. Tools that only automate reconciliation, rather than the whole close, publish prices from $49 a month.

Those ranges come from the structure of the offers rather than from a single quote. A close platform is sold per module, the modules stack (checklist, reconciliation, journal entries, flux analysis, compliance), and most contracts run one to three years with an implementation fee on top. That is why two companies of the same size can get very different quotes from the same vendor.

If you only need the reconciliation part of the close priced, our account reconciliation software pricing comparison covers ten reconciliation vendors in the same format, including the ones that publish.

Why the $125 and $30 per user figures are out of date

Search for FloQast pricing and you will find $125 per user per month repeated across comparison articles. FloQast's own pricing page contradicts it in its headline: no per-user fees, pricing built around value rather than headcount. The figure may describe an old contract, but it is not how FloQast says it sells today, and budgeting a ten-person team at $15,000 a year on that basis will not survive the first call. We keep a separate breakdown of what FloQast costs and what moves the quote.

Numeric is the other one. For most of 2026 it listed an Essentials tier at $30 per user per month, which made it the only close platform you could price from the website. That line came off the page in September 2026. By September 29 the pricing page had been rebuilt around four modules, including one that replaces NetSuite entirely, and none of them shows a figure. Any article still quoting $30 per user is describing a plan you can no longer buy. There is more detail in our Numeric pricing guide.

The practical lesson is to treat any close software price you did not read on the vendor's own site this month as a guess. These pages change often, and Numeric's changed twice in one month, so re-read each shortlisted vendor's page in the week you sign.

How much does month-end close software cost for a small team?

For a team of two to five people on QuickBooks Online, Xero or NetSuite, month-end close software usually costs less than the enterprise ranges suggest, but only if you buy the piece you actually need. A close checklist with a reconciliation layer can run from about $49 to $400 a month. A full close platform with journal entry automation and SOX controls rarely makes sense below about ten people in finance.

The honest way to size it is to look at where the days go. In most small teams the checklist is not the bottleneck. The bottleneck is tying the bank, the business cards and the Stripe, PayPal or Square payouts back to the ledger, which is the longest task in the close and the one that slips. Paying for task management on top of an unreconciled ledger buys you a well organized late close.

Accounting firms that close books for clients sit in a different bracket, because the tools price per client. Xenett charges $7.50 per client a month for its review plan and $10 for its workflow plan, and Intuit's Books Close add-on is due to cost $8 per onboarded client from January 21, 2027. Our guide to QuickBooks Online Accountant and Books Close pricing covers the per-client math.

What drives a financial close software quote?

Five things move the number, roughly in this order. Knowing them before the demo lets you control the scope instead of having it set for you.

DriverWhy it moves the priceWhat to decide before the call
ModulesClose checklist, reconciliation, journal entries, flux, intercompany and compliance are usually priced separatelyWhich two modules would remove the most hours this quarter
Entities and ERPsEach legal entity and each ledger connection adds configuration and often a feeHow many entities close on the same calendar
Named usersOracle prices per named user; FloQast and Ledge say they do notWho needs to sign off versus who only needs to view
Transaction volumeMatching engines are sized by lines reconciled per monthYour bank and processor line count for a normal month
Implementation and termSetup fees and one to three year terms are common; Ledge includes implementation, Oracle's standard term is three yearsWhether you will accept a multi-year term for a lower annual rate

Most of these platforms are sold on annual or multi-year agreements with auto-renewal and a notice window, so the renewal date matters as much as the first-year price. Put the term, the notice period and any price escalator into whatever contract management software your finance team already uses to track vendor renewals, before the signature rather than after it.

Do you need close management software or reconciliation software?

Close management software organizes the close: tasks, owners, due dates, sign-offs and review notes. Reconciliation software does the matching: it pairs bank, card and processor lines with ledger entries and shows what does not agree. Many teams shopping for close software actually need the second one first, because an unreconciled account is what holds the close open.

A quick test: if your close runs late because people forget steps or reviews stall, buy close management. If it runs late because someone spends two days in a spreadsheet tying Stripe payouts and card statements to QuickBooks or NetSuite, buy reconciliation. Our month-end close software comparison walks through both shapes and where they overlap.

How much does BlackLine cost?

BlackLine does not publish a price, and its pricing page currently returns a server error rather than a list of plans. It sells per module after a demo, and the quote depends on the modules you license, your named users and your account volume, plus a separate implementation fee. For a mid-market team, budget a five-figure annual contract at minimum. We keep a longer BlackLine cost breakdown with what the company does publish.

Is Oracle the cheapest enterprise close software?

On list price it is the only one you can check, which is not the same thing as cheapest. Oracle's EPM Standard is $250 per named user per month with a 10 user minimum, so the floor is $2,500 a month or $30,000 a year, on a standard three year term, before an implementation partner. Other enterprise vendors may quote lower or higher; you cannot tell without a quote. Our Oracle Account Reconciliation alternatives page covers what the EPM subscription includes.

Questions to ask every close software vendor before you sign

  • Which modules are in this quote, and which features on your website are in modules we are not buying?
  • Is the price per user, per entity, per workflow or per transaction, and what happens when we add an entity next year?
  • What does implementation cost, who does it, and how long until our first real close runs in the system?
  • Is the contract annual or multi-year, is there a price escalator at renewal, and what is the notice window?
  • Does the reconciliation module match transactions itself, or does it only store the workpaper someone prepared in Excel?
  • Does it connect to our ledger and bank directly, or through file uploads?

The fifth question matters most. Several close platforms treat reconciliation as a document you attach and sign off, not as matching the software does for you. If matching is the work you want gone, confirm it in the demo with your own data.

Where Reconciler fits

Reconciler is not a full close suite. It is the reconciliation layer: it connects your bank feed, business cards and Stripe, PayPal, Square or Shopify payouts next to QuickBooks Online, Xero or NetSuite with read access only, matches both sides line by line, and explains every match in plain English, so the account that keeps your close open is finished first. It costs $49 a month billed yearly for a bank and one processor, $149 with a ledger connected, and $399 for multiple entities, with no implementation fee and no sales call. You can run matching on a sample from the tool at the top of this page, then compare it with our published plans.
