A Shopify Xero integration costs $0 a month if Xero's own Shopify app covers your store, and roughly $18 to $299 a month at up to 5,000 orders if you need a paid sync app, depending on how many orders you ship. Checked on October 15, 2026, Xero lists its Shopify integration as free on all Xero plans. The paid apps price by monthly order volume: Link My Books from $24 a month for one Shopify store at 200 orders, A2X from $29, Amaka from $18 billed annually, and Synder and Webgility higher, because they do more of the bookkeeping.
The useful question is not which app is cheapest at the bottom of the ladder. It is what happens to your bill at 1,000, 2,000 and 5,000 orders, and whether the free app's 90 days of history and single-store scope fit you. We read every vendor's own pricing page or Xero App Store listing on October 15, 2026, and list only what they publish.
How much does a Shopify Xero integration cost?
Expect $0 in app fees for Xero's native Shopify integration, $24 to $79 a month for a paid sync at up to 1,000 orders, and $49 to $299 a month at 5,000. You also pay for Xero itself, which in the US lists at $27 a month for Early, $59 for Growing and $97 for Established, and Shopify's own plan and payment fees, which no integration changes.

Is the Shopify Xero integration free?
Yes. Xero's App Store listing for its Shopify app says it is free on all Xero plans and calls it Xero's free integration, and the US listing includes the United States in its countries. Guides written in 2024 and 2025 still say Xero charges $20 a month for it in Australia and New Zealand and £10 in the UK, so if you read that elsewhere, check the listing date.
Free has limits worth knowing before you rely on it. The listing says it syncs up to 90 days of historical data, so a store that is a year behind on its books needs a paid app or a manual catch-up. It names the Shopify Online Store and Shopify POS as sources, and says nothing about several stores in one Xero organization, multi-currency, inventory or cost of goods sold. The app was rated 4.7 out of 5 from 73 reviews on the US listing when we checked.
Does Shopify integrate with Xero?
Yes, in two ways. You can install the Shopify app by Xero from the Xero App Store, which posts sales, fees, taxes and payouts into Xero and matches Shopify Payments payouts to your bank account. Or you can connect a third-party app such as A2X, Link My Books, Synder, Amaka or Webgility, which add more history, more stores, other sales channels and cost of goods sold.
Either way you choose between two posting styles. A daily or per-payout summary keeps Xero small and is what most accountants prefer for a store doing more than a few hundred orders a month. Per-sale posting gives you customer and line-item detail in Xero but can bury a high-volume file in thousands of invoices. Xero's own listing recommends the daily summary for high-volume stores.
What does a Shopify to Xero sync cost at 200, 500, 1,000, 2,000 and 5,000 orders a month?
Here is the cheapest published plan for one Shopify store at each volume, on monthly billing unless the vendor only shows annual. Synder counts synced transactions rather than orders, so a month with refunds and payouts uses more of its allowance than the order count alone.
| Orders a month | Xero's Shopify app | Link My Books | A2X | Amaka (billed annually) | Synder | Webgility |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 200 | $0 | $24 | $29 | $18 | $65 | $79 |
| 500 | $0 | $35 | $45 | $18 | $65 | $149 |
| 1,000 | $0 | $47 | $79 | $49 | $129 | $149 plus one $10 block |
| 2,000 | $0 | $56 | $79 | $49 | $129 plus usage above 1,000 | $149 plus three $10 blocks |
| 5,000 | $0 | $68 | $115 | $49 | $299 | $149 plus nine $10 blocks |
Two patterns stand out. Link My Books is the cheapest paid app on monthly billing at every volume we priced for a single store, and its gap over A2X widens at 1,000 orders, where A2X jumps to its $79 Professional plan. Amaka's flat $49 Premium+ looks cheapest above 1,000 orders, but that figure is billed annually and the page we read showed no monthly price for it, so compare it on a yearly total. Synder and Webgility cost more because they post more detail and, in Webgility's Complete plan, include its own staff reconciling accounts.
What is the best Shopify Xero integration?
For a single US store under about 500 orders a month with books that are current, start with Xero's free Shopify app. For a store with several sales channels, more than 90 days of history to catch up, or an accountant who wants one clean summarized entry per payout, Link My Books or A2X is the usual pick. For per-transaction detail across Shopify, Stripe and PayPal, Synder. For ecommerce bookkeeping done for you, Webgility Complete.
- One store, current books, Shopify Payments. Xero's free app. It matches Shopify Payments payouts to the bank deposit, which is the part most sellers worry about.
- Shopify plus Amazon, Etsy or eBay into one Xero file. Link My Books or A2X, which price by channels and orders. A2X sells each channel separately, so compare its full A2X pricing ladder with a stacked bill before you commit.
- Costs of goods sold that never look right. A summary app can post COGS from Shopify's cost fields, but only as well as those fields are kept. If stock counts drift, fix that upstream with inventory management software before blaming the sync.
- Nobody on your side keeps the books. A bookkeeping service may be cheaper than software plus your own time. Xendoo, for one, takes Shopify into Xero through A2X; our Xendoo pricing and alternatives page lists what that service costs by plan.
Does a Shopify Xero integration reconcile payouts to the bank?
Partly. Xero's free app matches Shopify Payments payouts to the bank account, and A2X and Link My Books post one entry per payout so the bank feed line has something to match. What none of them proves on its own is that every payout actually arrived, that the Shopify clearing account nets to zero at month end, and that PayPal, Shop Pay Installments and gift card activity landed in Xero too.
It breaks in the same places every month. A chargeback comes out of a later payout than the order it reverses. A refund on the 1st belongs to last month's sales and this month's payout. A PayPal order is paid out to PayPal, not to your bank with the Shopify Payments money, so it needs its own match. Shopify holds a reserve on a new or fast-growing store and releases it weeks later. Each leaves a small balance in a clearing account, and two quarters later nobody can explain the $2,140 sitting there.
That tie-out is what ecommerce payment reconciliation software does, and it runs next to whichever sync you choose. Reconciler connects Xero read-only, takes your Shopify payout export and your bank statement as CSV files (Mercury and Brex connect directly), connects Stripe, PayPal and Square read-only, and matches each payout to the bank deposit and to the entry your sync posted in Xero, with a plain English reason under every pair and every exception listed. It does not split a payout into orders; that stays the sync app's job, and since it never posts to Xero it cannot clash with it. With Xero connected it is $89 a month billed yearly on Growth, or $179 month to month, for up to 25,000 transactions a month. Setup is on the Xero reconciliation page.
Questions to ask before you pay for a Shopify to Xero app
Run any trial against your busiest real month and get these answered first:
- How many months of history do I get? The free app stops at 90 days. Link My Books ties history to the channel count, and A2X to the plan.
- Is the order count monthly or averaged? Link My Books uses a rolling 12-month average, which is kinder to a seasonal store than a hard monthly cap.
- What happens at the limit? Amaka says syncing pauses at 100 percent of your allowance until the next cycle or an upgrade. A pause in the last week of November is a close problem.
- Does a second store cost a second plan? A2X allows one store until Premium; Link My Books counts each store as a channel.
- Where does a lost chargeback land in Xero? Ask the vendor to show you, with the payout it came out of.
- How will I know the clearing account is right at month end? If the answer is "check it by hand", budget for that time or for a tool that does it.
If your ledger is QuickBooks rather than Xero, Intuit has its own Shopify Connector and the paid ladder looks different, with MyWorks and Bookkeep in the mix; we priced it in Shopify QuickBooks integration pricing, and the Stripe side for Xero is in Stripe Xero integration pricing. Prices in this category change often, so re-check any figure here on the vendor's own page before you buy. If the sync already runs and the problem is proving it is right, see Reconciler's plans and match your own Shopify payouts the same day.
